Weekend Business 2

The first part is about the "vocal rule." The buylaw has two parts; one is banks can be limited, and the other is commercial bankds cannot engage in trading in their securities for their account. More closely, in the Obama administration, there was a group that one or two go the direction the vocal happen to represent. There were such people and there was problem affectively cahged the rule. There was a law that seperated commercial banking from investement banking. And there are similarities between the vocal rule and the prior administration rules.
The second part is the top of the weeks business news. In the headline, the vocal rule on the considerable profits of big banks, like Goldman sachs, JP Morgan Chase, etc. In other news, some other big companies announced earnings that is better performance for next year. And Google which is completed with China reported a five fold increase. China and United States government both made statements about the Internet freedom connection with google case. Google says, "We'll stop censoring each Chiness language search engines by chinese hackers. And finally the NYT company announced they would begin charging for accesses to online contents in 2011. That's the top of the weeks business.
The third part is about Peter Blant. He is spending the horrific and stressful time because of his company finance and divorce. He spends thounds dollar for a month maintaining his farm, museum, and etc.
The last thing is about the mortgage in the US housing. The mortgage is falling lower. Because so many homeowners are to used the praise in the industry under water meaning the higer value of their home than their mortgage. There are lots of reasons; some survey and realization walking away.

Businesses, Unions Freed to Spend Big on Elections

The supreme court freed big businesses and unions to spend their money to persuade congress on elections. This dicision changed a century-long trend. The huge ads on Americans TV are released for the election season. About this decision of the court, Democrats disapproved it against Republicans. And the decision founded for some challenges to the system of campaign finance regulations.
The justices considered two basic things; one is the power of the central government and the other is the concentration of corporate wealth. In the court, there are two opinions; Kennedy's and Stevens'. Kennedy argued the right of the public to be exposed lots of ideas and informantion. On the other hand, Stevens dissented extremely, saying "The court's ruling threatens to undermine the integrity of elected institutions around the nation." The court decided not to accept a 63-year-old lay that included companies and unions can be forbidden from using their money for making ads paying attention to specific candidates. In regard to the cout's decision, Obama predicted that the ruling will bring a "stampede of special interest money in our politics." And he promised to cooperate with Democrats and Republicans to respond mightily to the court's action.
Campaign lawyers and political operatives considered deeply the results of this decision. First of all, it can cause the permission of the union-sponsored political ads. Then, it could make the TV ads competition increse for the public attentions with the candidates' own ads. Big companies, which are sensitive to many shareholders and customers as well as Congress, would be less tended to affix their name to a negative ad calling for a candidate's failure.

New York

I went to New York on last 15th. I visited New York for three days with my friends. This was my first visting New York. In the bus for New York, my heart was aflutter in anticipation of the short trip. It took 4 hours and a half from Boston to New York by the bus.
On entering the city, I was a little disappointed. Because it was dirty and complicated. It looked manic. The first impression of New York was not good to me. Especially, the metro and station were so bad. It was too difficult for the strangers to find thy right way as well as too dirty.
People who live in the city seemed to live busy. A cup of coffee always was in their hands. And in the metro or bus, they were eating sandwich, burgers, doughnuts, or something to eat. I could see various people who have different culture and homeland. There are so many people in New York.
In addition, there are so many companies and buildings. New York has many restaurants, too. So I and my friends could choice the restaurant for our meal among many options. For our first dinner, we went to Thai restaurant. It was my first opportunity to eat Thai foods. It was very good and delicious. However, the price of this city was pricey. And we should give extra money, 'tip'. In Korea, the tip culture is not. But in New York, it is important courtesy.
The most impressive place in New York was Times Squrare. I went to there in 2nd night. There was so many people who came from each countries and had different experiences. My heart pounded with excitement. "I'm here, Times Square, with people who came from all parts of the world! Among them, I am!" I felt that I seemed to become the global person.
The last day, it was rainy. But it was nice trip. If I have a chance to go to New York again, I will go to the Central Park. Missing the Central Park makes me feel something lacking.

Weekend Business

I heard the 'Weekend Business in New York Times' which was recorded by Jeff Sommer and some reporters and editors of NYT. This is about the week's business news: the Google situation with China Hacking, banker's financial crisis of a tax, and a new credit cards fee.
The first news is about the Google's announcement. Google will no longer cooperate with China and Chinese hackers. Google has concerned about hacking of Chinese and they decided. So, Google in Chinese lanuage including G-mail account will not work well. Chinese government recognizes that the Internet is the powerful thing. Google is running in China and pressing to China. This is great fire work in China.
Secondly, there are some banker's financial crisis about a tax. (I could not listen this part well.)
The third is about new credit card rules and regulations of fee and debt. James who was the CEO of the Morgan company reflects this new rules. He makes analysis, strategy, background, and so on. A few moments ago this regulation prohibits people issuing the credit card. And the smaller company like 'Victoria Secret' needs private level. Bank still have been trying to make this rules well.

The main factor of this article, Health bill at stake, Obama to stump in Bay State, is the Health bill which is making problems and arguments between Democrat and Republican. The Obama's administration has embattled health care bill. Martha Coakley who is the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Democratic candidate in the election made the argument about an anti-government. Scott Borwn who is a Republican Massachusetts State Senator had made the argument againt the health bill. In the election, who wins will make the legislation of the bill pass or not.
